Gliders Swim Club

Who We are

GLIDER SWIM CLUB is a competitive age-group swim CLUB that was started by a group of professional coaches in 2014. It is fully registered by law and Uganda swimmers Federation (USF) Gliders Swim Club is an active member in the sport and has participated in many events from its inception.
Our Mission is to create an enjoyable atmosphere conducive to learning every aspect of the sport of swimming and developing good sportsmanship and dedication which can help swimmers in other aspects of their lives to become positive and well rounded people.
Being a Glider swimmer means more than simply training and swimming fast. You are part of a family that will support you and encourage you do to your best.
We are a club which is run by a Board of Directors who meet twice per month. All Parents are requested to be active members of the Gliders Family by volunteering at various events and fundraising activities for the club

Our vision is to work hard together and strive to provide every swimmer the best possible opportunity to achieve the best on both local and international level.

02. Our Mission

To establish, promote and develop excellence in Ugandan competitive swimming for all club swimmers, coaches and competition officials to identify and invest in young talented swimmers from all over the country.

03. Our Goals

• The club will be affiliated to the Uganda Swimming Federation (U.S.F) and Fina
• Improve quality of swimmers.
• Produce swimmers with self discipline, commitment and respect.

Who Is Coaching Your Kids

Andrew Mendez Magomu

He has been teaching lessons and coaching with Kampala Parents School, GEMS Cambridge International School among others, and has been coaching locally for the past eight years

Denis Otim

He has been teaching lessons and coaching with Kampala International School to date, and has been coaching locally for the past ten years. This is his third year with the Gliders.

James Mwesige

He has been teaching lessons and coaching with Seeta High Schools to date, and has been coaching locally for the past eight years. This is his third year with the Gliders

Hamidah Nandawula

She has been teaching lessons and coaching with various Institutions, and has been coaching locally for the past three years. This is her third year with the Gliders.

Alex Kityo

He is a professional in swimming with certificates attached and a member of Uganda Swimming Coaches Association and Uganda Life Saving Federation. Also a Uganda Swimming Federation Official

MBROZE SITUMA

He is a professional in swimming with certificates attached and a member of Uganda Swimming Coaches Association and a committee member of Uganda Life Saving Federation

WAYISEEDA PATRICK

He is a professional in swimming with certificates attached and a member of Uganda Swimming Coaches Association and Uganda Life Saving Federation

NALUMANSI FRIDAH

She is a professional in swimming with certificates attached and a member of Uganda Swimming Coaches Association and Uganda Life Saving Federation
